PHYSICAL EDUCATION NEWS

As the Park Ridge Gymnastics program comes to a close, I would like to thank Gary Black and his team at Gymnastics 4 Hire for their support in providing equipment and resources to facilitate the program yet again in 2018. As you can see the students have had an absolute ball! Here are some happy snaps from the unit.

Knox Division Summer Sport

After a successful round at the Rowville District Summer Round Robin in term 3, we had a number of sport teams compete at the Knox Division finals last week. Congratulations to the Boys Softball team and Boys Basketball team who both finished 3rd on the day and our Girls Tennis team who finished 8th.

Our Girls Volleyball team made the grand final and unfortunately lost in a tie break set, whilst our Boys Volleyball team were victorious in a tie break set and will compete at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional finals this Friday at the State Volleyball Centre. Well done to all teams who represented Park Ridge at this level of competition, you should all be proud of making it this far.

We also had students compete at the Knox Division Rugby League Gala day. We submitted 3 teams; a Boys Tackling team, Girls Tackling team and a Boys Tag team. I was incredibly impressed with how quickly our players grasped the game of Rugby,  a brand new game for all but one of our students. It proved to be a successful day, with all three teams going undefeated and winning their competitions. The two Tackle teams have won the chance to compete at the Victorian Rugby League Billy Slater Shield later in the term.
